This overview will take you through the general workflow of Epicor® 9 and how to create and use the Allocation Template.
Key setup parameters are located in the Plant Configuration Control and the Allocation Template Maintenance.
An optional feature in the Allocation Template Setup is assigning Warehouse Teams, Warehouse Users, and Pack Station.
Reasons to us the Allocation Template
- The Allocation Template automates the allocation process for open orders in the Fulfillment Workbench.
- Multiple Allocation Templates can be created for numerous scenarios
- Each Allocation Template can be set up for use for specific warehouses and for Sales Orders, Job Orders, and Transfer Orders
- Transaction Priority levels can be specified for pick transactions
- Orders can be set up to be ‘wave picked’ (sometimes known as ‘consolidated orders’). Wave picking allows Epicor® to set up your picks so your warehouse picker pulls the products for multiple orders that are ready for shipment, that is located near each other. This avoids them walking back-and-forth to the same areas, order-after-order if the orders contain products that are stored near each other
- Sales Orders can be locked once a pick transaction occurs against a line
- Can select Jobs to automatically reserve inventory when a job is released
- Can select if a picked order record should be created when an order line has been deleted from a packing slip
- Can select if orders on Credit Hold will be released for picking
- Can select if the Fulfillment Workbench should ignore the Ship Order Complete and Ship Line Complete checkbox selection in Order Entry
